Three Years.

It is hard to believe that three years have already passed.  Three years ago today we woke up to cool temperatures and rain that cleared just in time for our ceremony.  Together we walked through the beautiful Red Butte Garden towards our loved ones and joined hands under a canopy of wisteria.  Together we shared words, tears, and laughter and then we said we do.  It is a moment I cherish.  And it is a moment I will remember forever.

I will cherish our friendship
and love you today, tomorrow, and forever.
I will trust you and honor you.
I will love you faithfully through the best and the worst.
Through difficult and easy.
What may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold,
so I give you my life to keep.

One more quick thing.  We were a bit non-traditional with our wedding but what was maybe the most different was how we did our wedding photos.  We had our wedding photos (some of which you see here) taken the day before our actual wedding.  We wanted to be completely candid and natural with our photographer and felt having our family and friends staring at us would hinder that.  So we got all dressed up in our wedding attire and had our photos taken a bit early.  Just the two of us.  And I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.

  1. Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary. Photos before the wedding sound like a neat idea, yours look great.

  2. Happy Anniversary! You look absolutely gorgeous! You two are a beautiful couple. Such beautiful photos!

We had a very non-traditional wedding as well: no groomsmen, no bridesmaids, no church, bagpipes as I walked down the "aisle," and a self-uniting Quaker license that allowed Andrew's unordained aunt to marry us! Oh... and I was 5 months pregnant!

    1. Your wedding sounds amazing! I love it. We didn't have bridesmaids or groomsmen, either. And definitely no church. We did have an open bar, of course!

  6. Happy anniversary! The pictures turned out gorgeous. Jeff and I met up with our photographer early in the morning before the ceremony and everyone's arrival to take our pictures together - I would definitely recommend having pictures taken earlier to anyone. Guests like it too because then they aren't waiting around for you to take pictures!
