A good ass-kicking.

Another season of the Bachelorette has begun.  And I've been sucked in already (shocker!!).  Luckily I had the day off (and Lee was at work) so I could catch up on last night's episode.  Looks like we're in for a drama-filled season with some of those dudes.  And, let me just say, there are some total babes on the show this season (I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, LEE!).

Enough with the embarrassing 'trashy T.V.' talk.  Today was a warm and balmy day in Boston.  Actually, it was straight-up tropical at 81 degrees and 77% humidity.  I left the house to take a walk with relatively straight hair and within 15 minutes of being outside, I was a frizzy mess.  I guess I need to get used to it because summer's a comin'!!

I walked for an hour or two along the Riverway Park near Fenway to the Back Bay, then ventured over to Sephora at the Prudential Center.  I don't know what it is about Sephora but I can't leave there with only ONE thing.  It's bad.  I did buy some Murad skin care items that I hope I love (and that I hope can cure this recent zit-fest that is currently plaguing my face... not cute).  I also checked out some Nike Free's but, since I'm not running at the moment, I decided not to torture myself by buying shoes that I will absolutely want to go running in.  Smart, right?

And then I came home and did this on the roof deck of my building.  The Nike Training Club workout.  And it kicked my ass in such a good way.  It's an app.  And it's free.  And I highly recommend it.  I did the 'leg sculptor,' the 'arm definer' and the 'ab burner.'  I believe I'll be walking a bit strangely tomorrow.  BUT I LOVE IT!

Do you like doing self-motivated, non-gym workouts?  Running is definitely a 'self-motivated' workout but I'm talking more about personal trainer-type work-outs or aerobics-like classes but doing them all on your own.  I don't have a gym membership so these fitness apps are saving my life!!

Non Garmin stats:  Nike Training Club... I love you so much already and it's only been one day.  Thank you for helping lift this depressive state that not running has created.  I promise to 'do you' three times a week.  Do you promise me results?  I hope so.

  2. I am so glad that you told me about this!! I don't belong to a gym either and always have to self motivate to do anything else besides run. I do the tracy anderson videos and sometimes p90x but this sounds great!
