Four Years.

Husband & Wife. Red Butte Garden, October 4th, 2009.

It's hard to believe that four years ago today we were married.  Honestly, it feels like a lifetime ago that we stood in front of our 40 closest family and friends and committed our lives to each other.  We have done so much over these last four years!  Moving.  Career change.  A baby.  Another move.  And another career change.  It seems like a lifetime ago but in the sweetest way.

Having a child together has changed the way I see the man that I married.  Seeing him be a father to our child opened my heart to love him more than I ever thought possible.  Seeing the light in her eyes and the smile on his face when they are together brings a feeling of contentment I'd never before experienced.  These last 18 months of being parents have, at times, been challenging but they have also seemed to add years and depth to our relationship.

Of course our marriage is far from perfect.  There are days that we talk and laugh and tease and pinch each other like giddy teenagers.  And then there are days when tempers flare and bickering seems to be the only way we can communicate.  But when I lay my head down at night, there is no one I'd rather be sleeping next to than this man.

I can't imagine my life any other way than with you.  I love you, Lee.  Forever and always.

And looking back... one year, two years, three years.
