Finishing touches.

We had a wonderful weekend.  But still no baby.  Now that her due date has come and gone, I sort of feel this sense of calm... like okay, no more waiting around for THAT date.  Now it's pretty much anytime.  Anytime now she could decide Hey, today is the day.  Let's hope she makes that decision soon.

Yesterday was gorgeous in Boston.  Like picture-perfect blue skies with a warm breeze.  After breakfast, we decided to go for a walk to try to get things moving down there.  And then I had the brilliant idea of incorporating the Summit Path stairs into our walk.  Lee did 6 times up and down the approximately quarter mile stairs (they go on forever).  And I did 3-ish times up and down those monsters.  And it felt so good!  Yes, I was exhausted by the end but it felt great to tire out my legs and feel a little muscle-trembling.  Love.

After our walk we had a fabulous brunch with a fabulous newlywed couple.  Every time we get together I always leave thinking Why don't we hang out with them more?  Oh, that's right.  Busy lives get in the way.  Well, C & G, hopefully you'll still want to hang out with us when we have the wee-one in tow.  And besides, it's good practice for you guys when you have your own little one (which is soon, I hope :).

And then we put the finishing touches on our little girl's bedroom.  Pictures hung.  Mobile hung.  Rug all FLORdotted into place.  We are now officially ready to go.  And maybe that was all she was waiting for!!  Like, hey Mom & Dad, pull it together and hang up my bird pictures, okay?  Well, sweetheart, they are up.  So come on out.  We are totally ready to meet you.

Does our crib look like it's missing something?  As cute as crib bumpers are, we forwent them as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  I guess little noses can get stuck up against the side of the pillow-y bumpers and can increase the risk of suffocation and SIDS.  And now, when I am laying in our bed (her crib will be in our room for the first 6 months) I'll be able to peer through the crib slats and see what she's up to without even getting out of bed!  Perfect.

  2. Love the mobile, so cute. We don't have a crib bumper either, it's great to be able to see her through the slats :)

  4. You and Lee have worked hard to make your baby's room beautiful. I'm sure she will really enjoy it. Today, I drove by Taco Time on 600 S, thought about their Veggie Burrito that you liked. I remembered I ate a mexican meal the day I delivered you. It gave me gas, or so I thought! It was really labor pains. So maybe a little hot sauce will get your little one going or just give you a bit of heartburn. It's just a thought. I'm excited to see you, Lee and your little one. xoxo Mom

  5. Maybe waking will help things to get going. You are right about the crib. I didn't put anything on it either. It is much safer this way. And that is the most important thing, right?
