Almost nice.

 

It was almost nice today.  It was almost sunny today.  And almost warm... but not quite.  That didn't stop us, though.  We went out and did a bike ride anyway.  There is a hill not too far from our house that is nice and steep and long with relatively little traffic.  It's perfect for hill repeats.  So that's what we did.  I did eight times up and down.  Lee did ten.  He rocks.  Lee rode his cyclo-cross, I rode my mountain bike.  It felt amazing to be back outside riding bikes again.  

I'll admit... getting on my mtn bike this afternoon felt bittersweet.  I really miss living in Utah today.  Like I ache inside a little bit.  For me, I associate riding my mtn bike with afternoon rides on the trails around Salt Lake City.  And now my bike lives way over on the other side of the country.  Which means I live way over on the other side of the country.  Sometimes I forget where we are and it hits me all of a sudden that we've moved really far away.  It's a weird feeling.

In other news... we're really close to finishing our taxes.  Actually, to be fair... Lee is really close to finishing our taxes.  I'm sure glad I married a guy who knows how to do that sort of thing.  I used to do my taxes myself but that was back when I was a student and didn't make any money.  Now?  It's not so easy.

Do you do your own taxes?  If I had to do them now, I'd probably hire someone.  As a student it took me like 10 minutes to fill them out and I always got money back.  Now?  Not so much.

Have you seen the movie 'the Fighter'?  We watched it last night.  It was really good.  And I loved the Boston accents.  'Where'd ya pahhhhk the cahhhhh?'
