Making it fit.

Around 10:30 this morning... after we'd already been to Whole Foods and Target... we laid back down on the couch for a sec before we did our workouts (Lee = bike trainer.  Me = longish run.).  All of a sudden there was a knock on the door.  Hmmmm, who could it have been?  Lee answered the door then came back and was like, "Um, it's the dresser delivery."  Whooooopsies.  I totally forgot that, due to weather delays, our dresser had been rescheduled for delivery today.  My bad.

Unfortunately for the delivery dudes, our elevator is broken (and has been for a few days) so they had to schlep that heavy thing up three flights of stairs.  Since I'd totally forgotten they were coming we hadn't prepared the space for its arrival so we had them drop it off in the living room.  They were like, "It's heavy."  And I was like, "We're strong.  We work out."  So they shrugged their shoulders, unpacked the thing, and left.  Holy shit.  They weren't kidding.  This ain't no particle board dresser!  This is solid teak with a solid white oak frame.  There was no way we were carrying the thing into our bedroom.  So we loaded it up onto some towels and slid it across the floor into it's proper spot.  And it looks great.  I love it.

This thing is huge but, I will admit, the space is a little awkward.  I'm making it work, though.  It's nice to finally have my scrubs off the floor and hanging up and my underwear out of a box and into a drawer.  It'll make getting ready at 5 o'clock in the morning sooooo muuuuch easier.

The weather was gorgeous today.  Sunny, blue skies, and a high of 40 F which makes for awesome running conditions, minus the huge slush puddles from the snow melt, however.  Once again, I manned up and owned the puddles rather than trying to shimmy on the icy sides of the running path.  It was funny to watch all the other runners out there trying not to fall into the puddles, delicately walking on a 4-inch wide path of ice and, there I am, going full speed thru ankle-deep, freezing cold water.  It was liberating.  And cold.

(See that path that appears to be pavement? Nope. It's 3-inches of ice water.)

The Superbowl is on soon.  And I couldn't care less.  Like all other girls, I just watch it for the commercials.  And the wardrobe malfunctions.

P.S.  We went to dinner last night with an AWESOME couple.  Good food.  Good beer.  Great conversation.  Crappy weather.  Thanks C & G!!

Garmin stats: 7.7 miles/1 hour 1 min.  Ooooooweeeee, were my toes and ankles cold by the end!  But at least I didn't waste time dancing on the ice rink running path and managed to run sub-8 min miles!

  1. Rocking it as usual, Briana. Today was gorgeous out, although the wind was a bit brutal up by my way. Everyone is happy!

    Nice looking dresser!

As for football, I love it. You'll find that most women here in New England are big sports fans. But since the Patriots are not in it, I couldn't care less. I am gonna take a hot bath!

Awesome run! I had the same type of terrain today but more on the icy side.

  4. Thanks for the shout out; it was fun! If we don't get a dresser whenever we move, G will probably kill me. I need to do a major closet clean out stat.
