Grandpa Glen & Coco's backyard.
We made it to Napa yesterday afternoon after a long driving day on Tuesday and a shorter one on Wednesday. Alice was a trooper and made it the eight-hour first-day drive from Salt Lake City to Incline Village at Lake Tahoe with only a handful of stops.
And a whole lot of Daniel Tiger and The Cat in the Hat on my iPad.
It took Alice an hour or so to feel comfortable at my dad's house again and then she was happy to help her grandpa make dinner or to chase Coco (one of her grandmas) around the house. And we enjoyed a glass or three of wine while taking in that view of the full moon rising over the Napa River.
Utah, I love you. But I am obsessed with California.
Our trip here will be quick because in a few short weeks my schedule will no longer be wide-open as I'll be a working woman (!!!) again. As much as I am looking forward to going back to work, I am already mourning the loss of the freedom we've had that allowed us to take month-long vacations whenever we felt like it.
But a steady paycheck will certainly feel good, too.
And check this out! I was contacted last week by a company that promotes all of the amazing outdoor aspects of Utah living, called Utah is Rad.This awesome organization put together a calendar for 2015 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Utah Foster Care. That's my photo of Lake Mary on the month of January in their calendar!
I am so honored that my photo was chosen to be part of this calendar and that it will help support such a wonderful cause.
