Alice & her best buddy, who, after telling her that Mama & Daddy married here, said she would marry him. "But maybe later....
Today a friend suggested that we take our kids to Red Butte Garden for a morning exploring the beautiful gardens on the foothills of the Salt Lake Valley. Excited about a change in scenery from our usual haunts, Alice and I met our friends there shortly after the Garden opened. Not having been in a few years, I was instantly flooded with memories as we walked through the doors and onto the 100-acres filled with native trees, blooming flowers and sweeping views
It will be five years ago on Saturday that Lee and I exchanged vows and got married in the Fragrance Garden at Red Butte.
We spent most of the morning in the Childrens' Garden but, after awhile, I slowly coerced the group toward that garden so I could reminisce about the beautiful October day five years ago when Lee and I started our lives together as a married couple.
And as I watched Alice walk down the same stone path where Lee and I walked to commit ourselves and our lives to each other in front of family and friends, I felt tears spring to my eyes as I thought about that day and those words and our life and this child that joining together has brought forth.
Our life together is far from perfect. But I wouldn't change a thing about what we are doing together.
Our little family of three.
Busy bee in the Fragrance Garden.
What a wonderful picture. Your words bring back such great memories of your wedding. xoxo
