Lately.

There are some in this city who hate the new U.S. Courthouse, calling it too modern. But not me. I love every inch of it.

Lately, with the stifling July heat making afternoon outings almost impossible, Alice and I have been going on morning-long journeys all around our little city. And along the way, we stop in the shade of the downtown buildings so that I can rest and so that she can get out of her stroller and run around.

Salt Lake City is full of these little outdoor green-space gems that have become our urban backyard.

And the best part? I don't have to mow or water the lawn.
