I've been crafting again...
After being on vacation last week, we needed a quiet weekend at home with no major outings or plans. And that's exactly what we did. The weather was still drizzly from tropical storm Andrea on Saturday but we managed to get out for our usual morning walk for a box of pastries. Not even a little rain will keep us from our ritual of going for a cinnamon roll (for him) and a scone (for me).
Then on Sunday, Lee took over the majority of the parenting duties while I went for a two-hour bike ride in the morning. When I got home and Alice was down for a nap, I went for a much-needed pedicure. And then Lee took Alice with him on his afternoon run so that I could take a quick snooze! It wasn't quite like my baby-free weekend in Chicago but it was just the recharge I needed to face my Monday morning.
Except so far my Monday morning feels a little overwhelming. I have mounds of laundry to do, piles of clothes to fold, and endless Alice-made messes that need putting away. But I can't seem to find the motivation to do any of it. Now that Alice is down for her mid-day nap, I want to do what I want to do, not what needs to be done. Can you relate?!
I can't seem to find motivation to do housework, but I obviously found some motivation to get my craft on and make fun little flashcards for Alice. If only I could channel that energy into cleaning the bathrooms!
To do: Color, cut, place on cardboard, & cover with tape. Voila! Flashcards.
Weekend Workouts: Saturday - Rest day! Although we did our fair share of walking. Sunday - 36-mile bike ride, all by myself.
Oh what adorable flash cards! A nap time well spent.
ReplyDeleteYou always loved to draw and color... even into your teens and beyond. Very crafty! Alice will enjoy them for sure. xo
