Wicked Smart.

Alice & her bald spot. May 2012.

So we're about seven weeks in with using the gDiaper cloth and cellulose-based disposable diapers and, I have to say, I love them.  I knew that I was committed to doing cloth diapers before I had Alice but I was unsure how much extra work they would create for me.  And here's my conclusion: Not much!  Seriously.  I do a load of the diaper inserts about every other day.  And the diaper laundry bag I am using goes straight in the wash, too, so there isn't any stinky mess when tossing them in.  So easy.

The cellulose-based inserts are awesome, too.  They are so absorbent!  I put one on Alice at night right before bed so that during her six-hour stretch of sleep, a wet or poopy diaper isn't sitting against her delicate skin.  And when I change her during the night the disposable insert has nearly doubled in size with no wetness in site!  Pretty amazing.

Honestly.  I have no complaints about gDiapers.  It's a wicked smah-t system.

After the initial investment, cloth diapering is much cheaper than disposables.  I read that by the time your kid is potty-trained, most parents have spent up to $2000 on disposable diapers.  I think I paid around $200 to get started with gDiapers and I'll most definitley use them with bambino numero dos (if there happens to be a numero dos).  Environmental and economical = Awesome.

I know, I know.  Nerd Alert!

Garmin stats: Living room workout.  NTC's Shoulder Ripper and Ab Burner.  Alice loved watching her Mommy work out!

  3. She looks so cute! I got gifted a bunch of Bum Genius so that is what we are using. I enjoy cloth diaparing, and I LOVE saving the money, but I get a fair amount of leaks.

I think it's time for me to go shopping and try some new stuff :) There is so much cuteness out there! Have you seen this website yet? www.kellyscloset.com

  6. Glad you decided to use cloth diapers. Just imagine if one in 10 new moms used them, the impact on our garbage landfills would be so much less.

I love the pillow she is propped up on, the cute red panties and her little feet.... So cute! xo
