Once again, I entered the Shades of Autumn Photo Contest with this week's challenge color of brown. I love the assignment of going out in search of a specific color to photograph, of having to search specifically for things that inspire me within the challenge color. I'll admit, the other fall colors were a bit easier to photograph but as soon as I turned my eye away from the colorful oranges and yellows and reds that are still vibrant here in Salt Lake City, I saw the deep coppers and earthy browns that are often overlooked in the fall.
I found these gorgeous leaves growing on a vine over a fence on my morning walk. It was cold yesterday when I took this photo (about 26 degrees) and there was some lingering frost, giving the dying leaves an antiqued look.
What do you like to photograph? At this point, just things. Things I find inspiring. I'm not sure that I am ready to photograph people. No reason, really. I might just be a tad nervous or a little bit intimidated with shooting people. I guess I'll practice on the wee-one when she's born.

ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. I love the photo of the fall leaves. I'm fairly new to photography. It started to become a passion for me when I started my blog about a year ago. My husband gave me a Nikon D5100 for my birthday just a few days ago so my next goal is to get comfortable photographing people. I need new models, my husband, cat and dog are tired of being my guinea pigs :)

ReplyDeleteI really had to open my eyes too and when I did there it was right under my nose. lol. I think the challenge has certainly forced me to be more creative and often think outside the box. Thanks so much for joining the Shades of Autumn Challenge!
