We went back to the
Tick Woods Lynn Woods for an afternoon of mountain biking... and I was pleasantly surprised with the terrain. The trails were a little overgrown (it's early in the season) but there were definitely some challenging and technical sections. We had a great time and, after a thorough inspection, we came home tick-free
(unlike last time)! But, let me just say, the mosquitoes are NO JOKE out there. Even though I had bug spray on, those little eff-ers STILL circled my head... and I have no idea what that caterpillar web-like cocoon thing is, BTW... I was intrigued, but kept my distance. Have you seen one of those things before? If so, WHAT THE EFF IS IT??
Are you a magnet for mosquitoes? I totally am, which is good for anyone with me as they won't need to wear repellant while I'm around!
Non-Garmin stats: 3-ish hours of mtn biking in the beautiful Lynn Woods (we may or may not have been lost for about 30 minutes, though).
What an awesome bike ride. I would be nervous about riding my bike on trails (not the best at cycling) Mosquitoes don't bother me too much but it just depends on how thick they are.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a cocoon like that before! I think I would have kept my distance as well.
