Reds, oranges, and yellows.

Now that Lee and I aren't planning a wedding we find ourselves with a lot of free time on our hands (not that we're complaining!). We both love this time of year.... and we've been making the most of the mild temperatures by doing a lot of trail running, mountain biking, and golfing... yes, golfing. I played golf quite a bit as a kid thanks to both my mom and dad's love for the sport. I haven't golfed in a looooong time (I blame having lived in L.A. for the last 7 years) and I'm a bit rusty but I've dusted off the ol' clubs and I'm getting back into the swing of things.... literally. I have a pretty gnarly right slice that I can't seem to shake but I'm workin' on it.

As fall begins and summer ends... I am mourning the end of the Downtown Farmer's Market. Lee and I are so spoiled living only half a block from this bi-weekly market... we haven't purchased store-bought fruits or veggies in over 3 months! I guess that is one of the things I will miss most this winter about moving from Santa Monica... the year 'round, bi-weekly Farmers Market... oh ya, and of course I'll miss the maple syrup-infused bacon biscuits and the other made-from-scratch-treats from Huckleberry Cafe... this place was half a block from my apartment in Santa Monica and I would frequent it at least once a week (much to the chagrin of my thighs and my wallet). I knew I'd found a cafe gem when I spotted Reese Witherspoon lunching there with girlfriends weeks after I'd found the place. Ya, I'm cool... I know. P.S. She's TINY in person!

Even though I'll probably eat my words come February/March I have to say that I am REALLY excited for Winter. It's been 7 years since I've spent an entire winter here and I'm looking forward to sweaters and scarves and boots and coats. Bring on the snow and ice!
