One of my favorite parts of our trip to Canada so far has been watching Alice with her cousins. Grace and Anna are 8 and 10 years old and Alice is in complete awe of them. They run across the yard through the bubbles and she is quick to follow. They scream and laugh as they play on the swings and she tries to copy the sounds they make. She wants so badly to be able to do all that they can do.
Soon enough, Love Bug. Soon enough.
Of course I loved Alice from the moment she was born. But looking back at those early days with the perspective of hindsight, my love for her was a little obligatory. She was my daughter so I had to love her! As the days turned into weeks and then months, though, that obligatory love became the sweetest, most special love I could have ever imagined.
Over the weekend, watching Alice's chubby little legs run through the grass chasing after her cousins, squealing in delight all the while, made my heart swell. I didn't think it was possible but I found even more love for that kid.
She still drives me totally crazy multiple times a day, though.
Are those matching dresses? They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes! My mother-in-law brought them back from Cuba for her three grand-daughters! Sweet, huh?!
Delete(I can't believe you're moving in TWO DAYS!!!)
The driving you crazy is totally normal. Extra normal since you named her Alice, so that's your own fault. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch fun pictures of Alice playing with her cousins. She loves her bubbles! Glad you both are enjoying your vacation in such a gorgeous place. xo
