Weekend.

Original pull-chain windows & exposed brick.

We are back in Salt Lake as a belated birthday present to me and so that Alice can see and spend time with her Utah family. Since the renter has moved out of our loft we also wanted to take time to set it up so that we can stay in it when we come to town. And it feels so good to be back in our home. Sure, we only have two bar stools to sit on and our plates and cups are mismatching but who cares. We are home!

The remainder of our weekend was spent at my mom's for Sunday brunch and Super Bowl-watching, although I don't think any of us caught even a minute of the game. My aunts and uncles and cousins were too preoccupied playing with Alice to care what was happening with the game. And all those hands wanting to hold her gave this mommy a break! I enjoyed eating with two hands! And I enjoyed having an adult conversation without trying to juggle or entertain a baby.

I meant to take pictures all the while but it totally slipped my mind until the end of the afternoon. I grabbed my camera just in time to snap a few photos of my cousins oohing and aahing over Alice as she had a bottle. Those cousins are like sisters to me as we spent most weekends together when we were little splashing in the stream and running wild in the hills behind their home. We've managed to stay close and even though we don't speak as much as I'd like and we only see each other a few times a year, when we get back together it's like no time as passed at all.

I love those women so much.

  2. Love the pictures of Alice and the "cousins"! I'm so glad they all got a chance to see her and interact with her for a little while. Everytime there is a family get together, they ask how Ms Alice, you and your hubby are doing and wished you lived closer to the family.

I have the same comments... I want you to live closer too. Love you "3" so much. xoxo Mom
