Strapped.

 August sunset. Canada vacation 2012.

First, I'd like to say I can't believe it has been eleven years since that tragic day.  It doesn't seem that long ago and yet so much has changed since 9/11/01.  Today I am remembering where I was, how I felt and all that I am grateful for eleven years later.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been in the market for a new strap for my DSLR for some time now.  Growing up, my mom had a colorful and hand-made strap for her film camera that I just adored.  That strap is long gone now but I haven't forgotten it.  Luckily Etsy exists for un-crafty people like me and I was able to find the perfect hand-made, vintage-inspired camera strap made by a hip and crafty artist in California (of course!).  When it arrived, I immediately took off my old, boring Nikon strap and attached my new, colorful one and fell in love with how it looks.  It is so cute!  And so well made, too.

And now I can sling my camera over my shoulder in style.  As stylish as I can be pushing a stroller and lugging around a diaper bag, that is.

Yes, my husband laughed as I took this self-photo in the mirror.

  2. Beautiful sunset!!

I have a similar strap for my camera and love it! It is so much more fun than the ones that come with the camera. :)

  3. I remember where you were on 9/11/2001. The SLC airport on your way to Hamburg Germany to be a nanny. You finally made it there, but a couple of weeks later. When you were getting on the plane, flying internationally, it made me so nervous. Our lives have changed during these last eleven years.

I am also very grateful for my family and how lucky we are that we are all happy and healthy.

As for the camera strap... I'm sure it's in a box, somewhere in the bowels of our basement. xoxo
