My favorite scent in the world just might be the springtime smell of lilacs. If I walk (or run) past a lilac bush, I must stop and smell them. I must! They just smell so good. A few years ago I found a perfume that smells exactly like fresh lilacs. I've been addicted to it ever since.
This morning, while I was enjoying a latte from my favorite coffee shop, I read this quote by Oprah Winfrey. I'm not a die-hard Oprah fan, but this quote really resonated with me... so I thought I'd share.
"You are not the product of your circumstances. You are a composite of all the things you believe, and all the places you believe you can go. Your past does not define you. You can step out of your history and create a new day for yourself. Even if the entire culture is saying, 'You can't.' Even if every single possible bad thing that can happen to you does, you can keep going forward."
Will you watch Oprah's last show on May 25th? I probably will. It's the end of an era!!
