6 weeks in....

...and I'm seeing results.  You see, I'm a sucker for beauty products.  It must be all those years I spent schlepping make-up and face creams to the vain women of Southern California... and I still love a good cream/mask/foundation/mascara that enhances beauty.  So when the esthetician at my laser spa recommended I try Latisse, I balked.  I didn't balk at the product (who DOESN'T want longer, darker, fuller lashes?!?), I balked at the price!  Yeeeowza, it's kind of spendy.  I told her 'no thank you' and I gingerly put my clothes back on (she's a master with the laser).  After six laser treatments where she lasered my tender bits and I coveted her dark and full lips lashes, I told her I was finally biting the bullet on Latisse.  She informed me they just happened to be running a $20 off special for the month of December (Merry Christmas!) which definitely helped ease the sting on my wallet.

I have been diligently applying Latisse to my lashes every night since the end of December and, six weeks in, I'm happy with the results.  BUT things are really supposed to start sprouting around the eight week mark and by twelve weeks, I'll have long, billowy lashes!

I'm pretty sure the lashes on my left eye are longer than the lashes on my right eye.  Hmmm... I sure hope those little guys even themselves out!  I don't want Quasimodo lashes!

So do I feel like Latisse is worth the price?  I'd say yes but with a few modifications.  If you do decide to buy Latisse, I recommend NOT using the applicators it comes with as it wastes A LOT of product.  I apply the solution directly to my lashes straight from the bottle.  I feel like the applicators eat up a lot of product, shortening the life of one bottle (the gals at the laser spa told me their bottles last up to 6 months by ditching the applicators. Score!).  Just use caution that you don't get the tip of the bottle dirty as it can be a breeding ground for bacteria.  

Will I keep up with Latisse once my lashes reach their peak?  Mmmmm, maybe.  I can see myself using it 2 to 3 times a week to maintain my lashes but every night?  Probably not.  The downside is that your lashes will return to their 'normal' length if you discontinue using Latisse.  Bummer.  But luckily there are a billion enhancing mascaras on the market to create the long lash effect!

Garmin stats: 7 miles/56 minutes. I focused on keeping my heart rate between 145-150 bpm rather than obsessing over my pace.  Today's goal?  An easy-paced run which turned out to be a perfect 8 min/mile.
