(The bangs were banished today.)
So day two was significantly better than day one. First of all, it was less 'hectic,' meaning there were less patients, less doctors, less chaos, which was amazing. Second of all, I felt waaaaay more comfortable today and I feel like I am starting to get the hang of what the hell I am doing with all the new charting, the new protocols, the new everything. I have to keep reminding myself that it's only my SECOND day as I feel like I'm a bit too hard on myself when I don't check the right box (yes... MGH does PAPER charting. I haven't charted on paper in .... NEVER in my career!!) or know where the labs go or where sh*t is kept. I will 'get it' all eventually.
Funny enough, the two nurses who were featured on ABC's TV show BostonMed were working in the ER today. When I first saw one of them I was like, 'Okay wait. How do I know that person?' I felt like I'd had a conversation with them or that we'd met at some point in time... Um, no. I've seen them on TV. THAT'S why they looked familiar. Duh. Of course I played it cool and didn't say something dorky like, 'Oh hey! I saw you on TV!! You're totally famous!!' Nope. Not me. I've lived in L.A. among the celebs. I know how to keep my cool.
Right now I'm on the green line train, heading home. And I don't go back to work till Monday (oh SNAP!). Can't wait to sleep in! Can't wait to see what Lee has cooked up for dinner tonight! And hopefully it involves a bottle of wine.
