Can you smell the sheer panic?

This is Big Kitty. This is Big Kitty in a sheer panic after being loaded in a carrier and then taken to the vet for shots and a 'certificate of health' so that she and her buddy, Little Kitty, can fly across the continent to Boston. Seriously, these cats think I'm torturing them but they really have no idea just how good they have it. For the most part putting them into their carriers this morning went better than I predicted. The last time I put them in carriers was when I DROVE THEM 10 HOURS IN THE CAR FROM LA to SLC. That time, Big Kitty went in her carrier, no problem. Little Kitty? Well she fought me tooth and nail (literally) and it took 4 or 5 tries and I was in tears by the end. And then the meowing started. This isn't your typical 'feed me, I'm hungry' meow... it's more like 'what-the-eff-are-you-doing-to-me, I-thought-you-loved-me, I'm-going-to-claw-your-eyes-out-while-you-sleep' type of meow. And it lasted from LA to Barstow, which is about 3 hours of tortured cries. Let's just hope those 2 get with the program more quickly this time and realize that resistance is futile.

Oh. And one more thing? The vet talked me out of sedating them (curses!!)... and she let me in on a little secret. Those airport security bastards are going to make me WALK THEM THRU THE SCANNERS IN MY ARMS!

I might just start drinking now...
