(You know what they say... A moment on the lips...)
Yep. This is what I'm drinking right now and damn, is it good. I did an extra few sets of stairs today on my run for this specific reason... to drink a Double Chocolate Stout. It is so good. There really are other reasons why I run... but today, it's for the beer.
(....forever on the hips. That's why I do stair repeats.)
It was gorgeous here today in Boston. Snowy, blue skies, and a high of 45. Rumor has it that it will be 51 degrees (!!!!) on Saturday. I can't imagine this place any other way than eff-ing freezing.
I used some of my Groupons today that had been burning holes in my pocket. I seriously love Groupon. If you haven't signed up for it yet in your city, you're missing out. Trust me. I had a Groupon for American Apparel... $25 for $50 worth of merchandise and boy, did I get a cute chambray skirt and a cute peach striped shirt. I love that place and it is MADE IN THE U.S.A. Eff ya!
I also had a Groupon to The Meat House in Brookline (side note: Isn't that a sweet name for a butcher shop?). Lee and I decided to have a gourmet meal at home on New Year's Eve rather than fight the crowds for ridiculously expensive and possibly mediocre food. On the menu at Chez Lee/Bri: New York strip steak with pan stout sauce (hence the beer I bought today and am currently drinking), roasted potatoes and sauteed asparagus. Oh, and two bottles of champagne (of course) and possibly some dessert wine from Alpha Omega (I should probably run an extra mile or two tomorrow).
(Newbury Street. Love that place.)
(Big Kitty. All dressed up with no place to go.)
New Year's Eve has always been a letdown of a night for me... when I was living in L.A. it was always, 'What should we do for NYE? Where should we go? What should we wear? Blah, blah, blah.' And then we would spend hundreds of dollars on a limo, a hotel room, entry into a club/bar, buying drinks. And those nights were never that fun.... I think too much emphasis is put into that night and then people are disappointed when it ends up being like every other night... JUST MORE EXPENSIVE! Or maybe I'm just old and boring.
Garmin stats: 5 miles/45 minutes + stairs. I love me some stairs.... the burn feels so good!
