Today was the first day I've worn my snow boots since last winter. I woke up this morning to the sound of snow plows and instantly got excited. I had no idea it was supposed to snow last night! I bundled up, grabbed my camera and went on a morning adventure through the fresh blanket of snow. The weather report said it was 30F with a wind chill in the 20's. Well, I guess all this extra pregnancy blood flow is making me less sensitive to the cold because I was roasting hot during my walk. I may have bundled up just a bit too much.
In other news, I was feeling a serious lack of motivation earlier in the week. On Monday I didn't leave my apartment. Not once. Not even to get the mail. And on Tuesday? I didn't leave my apartment till later in the evening and that was only because I had to go to work for a night shift. I am not sure what my deal was but this dusting of snow this morning has invigorated me to do things. Laundry! Dishes! Taking a week's worth of recycling out! Walking to the grocery store! And all before 11 AM. It feels good to get things done. Sometimes when I lay around all day I feel so worthless and lazy. I hate feeling that way. But I guess we all need mellow and easy days every once in a while. Right?
To make up for my laziness earlier in the week, I'll be making this delicious chocolate pudding and some yummy turkey empanadas (recipe to follow). I love snow days.
