Also, one thing I've learned is to buy things you love, you'll always find a place for it. I've never been one to buy an entire matching set, it's just not my style. And I try not to buy something as a place holder until I find the right thing to replace it. Instead, I make a mental note of pieces I would like to have in a room and then I go on a hunt to find just what I'm looking for. Sometimes I find it right away and sometimes I don't. I almost went crazy searching for a round end table that was taller than 24", it took me months and then I randomly went into a store in Gardner Village and BOOM...found it.

West Elm & Pottery Barn offer design specialists to come to your house for free and help you come up with ideas for your space. Of course, I think they like it when you buy their product after they put in the time. But, it looks like you're on the right track. Having pictures of rooms and styles you love helps a lot when it comes to actually shopping. The good thing about decorating a house is we have so much available to us now. And that's a great thing to keep in mind in thinking about a room as an evolving project. Thanks for that! XO. My husband and I have been trying to "collect" things to make our home look unique and like "us" and sometimes I feel like the whole process is too overwhelming. I read an article featuring homes of various interior designers and I recall one of them said that decorating one's home or space is a never-ending project. That helped take away the stress of trying to go out and buy everything to make a room perfect. Now I just buy a piece here or there with the plans of using that piece to help build an ever-evolving space that reflects our taste. Good luck with modifying your living room!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
