Spring Blossoms.

The Utah State Capitol Building. Springtime 2014.

After three days of cold and snowy weather, the sun came out and the skies were finally blue this morning so we headed to where I knew it would feel like springtime. Earlier in the week, with Alice going stir crazy due to said weather and with me not being able to handle anymore toddler meltdowns, I strapped Alice into the stroller, put the rain cover on and laced up my running shoes. We did our usual 5-mile run through downtown and Memory Grove, up City Creek Canyon, looping back past the State Capitol before heading home.

And the bright white blossoms on the trees of Capitol Hill almost stopped me in my tracks.

As soon as I saw that it was going to be sunny today, I knew I wanted to go back there to take pictures (we were there during the fall for the brightly colored leaves, too). And the scenery certainly didn't dissappoint! Alice loved looking up at the blossoms, playing with the rocks on the pathway, and running up the grassy hill toward the Capitol building.

And then, for what seemed like no reason at all, Alice had a meltdown! So that was the end of our springtime visit to the Utah State Capitol building.

After a few minutes of blossom picture-taking, she'd had enough and headed to the stairs.

  1. Beautiful pictures of the Capital and the blossoming trees. I also love how the sun makes Alice's hair have such a wonderful color, kind of a 'light auburn', which is gorgeous! Glad there is some long needed sunshine for Alice to play in. xo
