Shades of Orange.

Moab, Utah. October 2010.

Have you ever been to Moab?  My Utah friends reading this are like, 'Duh. Of course.'  But here on the East Coast, not many have heard of this magical place in Southeastern Utah.  And I am okay with that.  I like those secret and beautiful places in Utah staying secret and beautiful.  It keeps them pristine.  And uncrowded.  And cool.  Yes, Utah is cool (Ssssshh! Don't tell anyone! Let them keep thinking Colorado is cooler!).

I thought about my love for Moab when I entered a photo contest titled Orange {Shades of Autumn}.  I immediately thought of the beautiful fiery orange and red rocks of the Utah deserts.  It is so gorgeous there.  With the bright blue sky as a backdrop, the orange color of the rocks often looks neon.  Go there.  You won't believe your eyes.  But don't tell too many people about it.  Please.

  3. Such a gorgeous photograph! I haven't been to Moab in about 9 years - Capitol Reef is the closest I've come and even that was only twice lately! My boyfriend and I are grumpy campers, but I think we might need to step up our game come next Spring :)
