The journey begins.

Thanks for all the congratulations and well-wishes about the wee-one growing in my belly.  We couldn't be more happy and elated and excited and scared and thrilled and and and and... and every other emotion possible.  I've wanted to blog about being pregnant for so long but I also wanted to be cautious and wait till things were more established in there.  I see a lot of women miscarrying in the E.R. and to say it freaked me out was an understatement.  I didn't want to happily blog about this in the early weeks and then have something happen.  It would've just been too difficult.  So we waited.  And now I am 12 weeks and 3 days pregnant!  And starting my second trimester this Friday!  Still not very far along but past many of the scary humps of early pregnancy.  Here's to hoping the next 6-ish months go smoothly (and quickly).

We missed our local farmer's market this past week.  I was working and Lee was flying home from Spain.  We found another farmer's market in Cambridge and took the bus there this afternoon to check it out.  It wasn't as big as the Brookline Farmer's Market but it had all the delicious locally-grown produce that we're used to getting.  And it wasn't nearly as crowded!  We bought many wonderful things then bussed home and had open-faced tomato sandwiches for lunch.  It doesn't get much better than that.

If you've had kids, did you find out at 20 weeks what you were having or did you wait?  I am too impatient and will be finding out Oct 24th.  I know, I know.  It's the one true surprise in life.  For me, though, the 'one true surprise' was getting pregnant in the first place!

  1. HOLY SHIT!!! congrats!!! I am SO excited for you and LEE and know how scary the first little while is... and dealing with the whole are we prego or are we not. I can't wait until Oct 24th! We found out as soon as we could too, but I work in Labor and Delivery and had access to a FREE ultra sound machine. HOLY SHIT... CONGRATS!!! :)

  2. You and my sister are due around the same time! So exciting! I am a control freak so I did find out with my three. Although, I really think that if I find myself with child ever again that I would want to be surprised. So excited for you!

  4. We found out at 15 weeks and 4 days I think. My OB in Utah did an u/s at every visit.

I didn't want to at first, but Jason said it would be really hard to choose both a boy name and a girl name, which is so true!
