Bundle of nerves!

(This may have been THE BEST bloody mary I have EVER had.)

I feel like it's the night before the first day of school.  I've laid out my clothes for tomorrow, packed my lunch, reviewed the bus/subway routes I'll be taking, my alarm is set (I'm sure I'll have Lee set his, too, just in case)...  TOMORROW IS MY FIRST DAY OF WORK!  Can't wait. But I'm nervous, of course.

You see... here's the thing.  Nurses can be bitchy.  And they don't always trust 'new' nurses until they have proven themselves as competent (I use the term 'new' as in 'new employee' not 'new' to the field of nursing. I'm 4 years into this adventure).  For the last 4-ish years, I've mostly worked in the Intensive Care Unit... 2.5 years at Cedars-Sinai in L.A. (hello celebrities!) and just over a year at the University of Utah (both in the ICU and ER).  Tomorrow I'll be embarking on a new adventure at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Emergency Room... which is a whole different ball of wax from the ICU where I've done most of my nursing.  But I'll manage.  I always do.  I am so looking forward to the excitement and the opportunity to work at such a prestigious hospital in such a big city.  I'm sure I'll get my butt kicked for the first few weeks (months!!) but I can't wait for all of the craziness to begin.  And to start getting a PAYCHECK!

(This is the planned outfit but I'm sure I'll have at least 4 changes before I walk out the door. Such is the life of a girl!)

Do you set clothes out the night before big events, i.e. first day of school, new job, big date?  I do, I'm a total nerd.

Garmin stats: 7 miles/55 minutes. Lolly-gagging around the reservoir.
