Our new home.

Last weekend Lee and I went to Boston in search of a place to live. Thank god for craigslist because without it, I have NO IDEA how we would've found a place. Seriously, how did we ever SURVIVE without internet? Anyway, searching for an apartment when 1.) you don't know the area AT ALL, and 2.) you're going off of grainy pictures and descriptions is difficult, to say the least. Plus, the weird thing about renting an apartment in Boston is you go thru a real estate agent/agency to get a place! How weird is that? Anyway... after scouring craigslist we narrowed it down to 2 or 3 apartments that we really loved that had the non-negotiables we were looking for (like accepting cats :-). I contacted the agent for this super cute 2 bedroom/2 FULL bathroom (which is almost unheard of in Boston) in an area called Brighton and set up a time to meet with her to show us the place. I also asked her if she had a few other places she could take us to see after the apartment in Brighton and she said that she was 'showing us the best' and that we 'wouldn't want anything else after we saw the place.' I thought she sounded a little full of herself but hey, she's a real estate agent, she's gotta be a salesman.

So I have to say.... she was right. The place it beautiful. It's 'light' and 'airy' and it's a stunner right off the bat. This is what you see when you walk into our place.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these bay windows. And they let in so much natural light, it's amazing.

(I'm gonna get all Bobby Flay up in this kitchen.)

And this is our kitchen. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! I keep thinking back to my sh*t-hole kitchen in my apartment in Santa Monica and I'm floored that we get to live in THIS apartment with THIS kitchen. On a side note... one of Lee's 'non-negotiables' for our Boston apartment is that it MUST have a gas stove. Lee loves to cook (and so do I) and he refuses to cook on anything but gas. This will definitely do.

And last, but not least, this is the community deck on the 4th floor.

 (Rooftop parties, fo shizzle!)

There is nothing up here yet as they are just finishing the building but hopefully it'll be a fun place to hang out, get some fresh air, and meet some new neighbors! Needless to say, after we saw this place, we were sold on living here. Our agent, Jillian, was right. She did show us the best and we didn't want to see anything else after seeing this place!

We DEFINITELY have extra room (and BATHROOM) for visitors and we would love to have guests come and stay and help us explore Boston. At this point, we're planning on living in Boston for 2 to 3 years.... but if we love it, we may stay forever.
